Erick J. Aune is an experienced Transportation and Urban Planner currently serving as the Director of the Santa Fe Metropolitan Planning Organization. With a strong passion for community-driven mobility solutions, he is particularly focused on and the advancement of innovative transportation designs that enhance safety and quality of life for all users and the development of world-class multi-use trails.
Mr. Aune has been at the forefront of land use and transportation planning in the Southwest since 1996, beginning his career with the USDA Rural Development AmeriCorps Program in Aztec, New Mexico. His professional experience includes serving as the Planning Director for both Aztec, NM, and La Plata County, CO, as well as his tenure with the New Mexico MainStreet Program, where he worked as the Mainstreet Director for Aztec and directly as a Program Associate. He holds a Master of Science in Natural Resource Development from Michigan State University and is a 2007 Fellow of the Regional Institute of Health and Environmental Leadership.
