Joelle Greenland, AICP, is the Founder and Principal of Green Lands Consulting, based in southern Vermont. With over 30 years of expertise in brownfields redevelopment, Joelle has earned national recognition as a leader in the field. Her work has contributed to transformative projects across the country, including award-winning initiatives like the Phoenix Award for excellence in brownfields redevelopment. Joelle specializes in navigating complex challenges and identifying catalytic opportunities to help communities—rural, urban, and tribal—achieve transformative redevelopment while tackling climate change through innovative land reuse strategies.
Her holistic and inclusive approach ensures thoughtful, equitable planning that fosters long-term prosperity. A certified planner with over 20 years of professional experience, Joelle brings deep expertise in grant management, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Richmond and a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning with an environmental emphasis from the University of Colorado Denver, where she was honored as the program’s Outstanding Graduate.
