Carlo Chunga Pizarro (he/they) is a Ph.D. candidate in urban and environmental planning and policy at UC Irvine. He is a first-generation student immigrant from Peru. His research addresses the intersections of immigration policy and disaster management systems. He is a Ford Foundation Predoctoral Fellow and has published works on farm worker safety during wildfires, as well as reviews in journals focused on undocumented critical theory, and nonprofit disaster preparedness. On his free time Carlo enjoys playing the bass guitar, trying out new food, and cycling!
