Lauren Simmons, AICP, is a Senior City Planner with the City of Golden, Colorado since 2020. While at the City she has managed large scale entitlements, guided redevelopment in downtown Golden such as the Clayworks/CoorsTek and oversees the City's Historic Preservation program and resources. She considers both authentic placemaking and empathic design as key factors for resilient and sustainable cities and brings forth this mobile workshop to look at a streetscape redesign. The workshop will invite participants to use intentional design to address a series of complex mobility scenarios in downtown Golden, Colorado. She is also currently enrolled in the Masters of Urban Design at the University of Colorado Denver and holds a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Florida.
