Mike Kingsella is the Chief Executive Officer of Up for Growth, a national, cross-sector member network committed to solving the housing shortage and affordability crisis through data-driven research and evidence-based policy.



The organization’s policy work has resulted in the passage of Oregon’s landmark H.B. 2001, which eliminated exclusionary zoning statewide, and California's A.B. 2345, which significantly enhanced the state's density bonus law. Through its legislative affiliate, Up for Growth Action, the organization has led a series of federal pro-housing bills including S. 1614 and H.R. 3198, the Yes in My Backyard (YIMBY) Act, H.R. 2483 and S. 3237, the Build More Housing Near Transit Act of 2021, and S. 902 and H.R. 2126, the Housing Supply and Affordability Act.
