Alex is the Director of the NYC Department of City Planning's Brooklyn Office, where he leads neighborhood studies, community engagement processes, and rezoning applications across NYC's largest borough. Since he started at NYC Planning in 2011, he has helped develop tens of thousands of new housing units, millions of square feet of new office and industrial space, acres of new waterfront parks, and led multiple resiliency, economic development, transportation, and housing studies. Alex regularly teaches a graduate planning studio course at CUNY's Hunter College, and has taught and guest lectured at New York University and Pratt Institute's planning programs.
