As the first and only sustainability staff for Allentown, PA—a federally designated disadvantaged community with over 50% Hispanic/Latino population—Veronika Vostinak leads outreach initiatives for environmental sustainability issues. With a robust background spanning both coasts, she previously served as the first Sustainability Program Manager for Half Moon Bay, CA, where she developed the city’s first climate action and adaptation plan, emphasizing outreach to underserved communities through initiatives like the Climate Lotería (created in conjunction with MIG) for Spanish-speaking and farmworker community members. Prior to her government roles, Veronika specialized in building coalitions at the intersection of environmental sustainability and public health.
