Ralph Willmer, FAICP currently serves as the AICP Ethics Officer for the American Planning Association (APA). In 2022, he retired as the Technical Assistance Program Manager and Principal Planner at the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC), the regional planning agency serving 101 cities and towns around Boston, where he managed the $1.25 million technical assistance program. He has over 35 years of planning experience, focusing on the preparation of community master plans, open space and recreation plans, housing production plans, and the drafting of zoning codes. He is the Chair of the Citizen Planner Training Collaborative, an organization that provides Massachusetts planning and zoning officials with the tools to make effective decisions regarding their community’s current and future land use. He has also served as Chapter President for the MA Chapter of APA and as a member of APA’s national Board of Directors.
