Barber's planning practice spans decades with highly effective experience locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally focusing on preservation, design, place-making, and smart-growth principles. He has served as a teacher and mentor at the university level, an advocate for disadvantaged and minority communities, created numerous successful private/public partnerships, and successfully implemented award-winning place-making principles. APA activities have included two terms as president of the Mississippi APA, Chair of the CPC, and service as AICP Commissioner, among many other committee assignments. Elected to the AICP College of Fellows in 2010, Bob has served two terms as its Chair.
