Ipshita Karmakar is an urban planner and architect, who specializes in using tools of geospatial and urban analytics in resiliency planning. She currently leads a climate resiliency startup in India, and is an urban resilience consultant at the Global Facility of Disaster Reduction and Recovery at the World Bank. She is a former Fulbright scholar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, from where she received a Master in City Planning, and a Bachelors in Architecture from KRVIA, Mumbai.
