Julie S. Burros, AICP is the Director of Executive Affairs and Engagement for the Chicago Architecture Center. She has had a long a varied career as an urban planner and arts administrator. She is the treasurer of the Arts and Planning division of the APA.
Before joining CAC in early 2025 she was a senior planner at the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, was a consultant at Metris Arts Consulting, served as the Chief of Arts and Culture for the City of Boston, was the Director of Cultural Planning for the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs, was the Central District Planner for the Chicago Department of Planning and Development and a consultant at Economics Research Associates. She has taught cultural policy and urban planning at DePaul University in Chicago and the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing China. Burros earned a MS degree in Urban Planning from Columbia University, and a BA degree in sociology from the University of Chicago. She is currently studying garden design at the Chicago Botanic Garden.
