Mikaela Renz-Whitmore is a long-range planner in the Urban Design & Development Division of the City of Albuquerque’s Planning Department. Mikaela was project manager for “ABC to Z” (abq-zone.com) – an ambitious project from 2015-2017 to update the Albuquerque-Bernalillo County Comprehensive Plan and completely overhaul the City’s 1970s zoning code to create an Integrated Development Ordinance. This project had a very successful consultant team, led by Don Elliot of Clarion Associates in Denver. Mikaela received her Masters of Community and Regional Planning from the University of New Mexico in 2006 and worked in the private sector for almost 10 years before joining the city in 2011.
