Deepa Vedavyas is the inaugural Director of Resiliency and Sustainability at NOPEC, the nation’s largest governmental energy aggregator, serving 247 cities and communities across Ohio for over 25 years. She was instrumental in setting the North Star for NOPEC’s sustainability vision and launching its first sustainability platform to advance a resilient and equitable clean energy future for all member communities. With over 15 years of cross-sector experience spanning community development, local government, academia, and philanthropy, Deepa brings a systems-thinking approach to sustainability. She serves on multiple national advisory boards and has shared her insights globally, including at ICLEI’s World Congress, the World ESG Forum, and as a delegate to COP27 and COP28. Deepa holds a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from Virginia Commonwealth University and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Sustainability at Harvard University.
