Henry Renski is a professor of regional planning and Chair of the UMass Amherst Department of Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning. He teaches courses in quantitative methods, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and state and local economic development policy. His research focuses on understanding the technological and social forces driving regional economies, and using this knowledge to improve economic and workforce development policy. His current work examines how emergent technologies, such as remote work and autonomous driving, are changing the demand for skills needed by workers, domestic climate migration, and regional entrepreneurship.
