Fernando joined the City of El Paso in 2018 after working in the private sector for more than 10 years in energy and climate change. He currently oversees projects for El Paso and is part of the team that develops and implements the first Climate Action Plan for El Paso. Before joining the City, he was involved in technical assistance projects in climate change, sustainability, and energy efficiency for public and private institutions in Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe and Asia.
Fernando holds a Masters in Agricultural Engineering and is a Certified Energy Manager and Certified Measurement and Verification professional.
