Gaby Harpel is a Planner II in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. Her work primarily centers on transportation and community outreach, having worked on the Long Range Transportation Plan 2050 for the Champaign-Urbana MPA and various grants to advance local transportation access. Outside of transportation, her interests lie in inclusive planning, gender equality, and the intersection of public art and planning. However, it wasn't until learning of her own neurodivergence that Gaby became fixated on how planners can build more inclusive environments for all neurotypes and is excited for others to take a similar interest through this presention. Gaby has acted as the Director of Administration for the APA Women and Planning Division since January 2023. She holds a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Illinois State University.
