Caitlin Hillyard is data and impact storytelling advisor on the AARP Livable Communities team. She began her career as journalist with C-SPAN and Kaiser Health News before earning a masters degree in urban planning from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Her interests include land use, community development and housing. In her free time she enjoys throwing pottery, reading and playing in her local community orchestra. An Iowa native, today she lives in Oak Park, Illinois.
