As the lead for the Highways to Boulevards Regional Study at the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG), Hina spearheads efforts to transform urban landscapes by removing or retrofitting transportation barriers that divide neighborhoods. Her work aligns with SCAG’s Connect SoCal vision, ensuring transportation planning fosters inclusivity and sustainability. With over nine years of experience in regional planning, multimodal transportation strategy, and stakeholder engagement, Hina has successfully led high-impact projects, including securing $480,000 in federal funding for regional highway transformation initiatives. She has played a pivotal role in multimodal corridor planning, active transportation strategies, and data-driven mobility solutions.
Hina’s expertise extends to GIS analysis, transportation policy development, and community engagement. She has contributed to statewide safety initiatives, helping shape the future of mobility across California. A graduate of California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, with a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning, she combines technical skills with a deep commitment to equity-driven planning. Passionate about creating people-centered cities, Hina continues to lead transformative efforts that bridge past urban planning injustices and pave the way for a more sustainable future.
