Rebecca "Becky" Smith, AICP, is the Planning Manager for the City of Northglenn, where she leads efforts to shape growth, sustainability, and health-focused initiatives. Since the adoption of the Northglenn Sustainability Plan in 2018, she has been pivotal in advancing the city’s goals. Becky served as the unofficial Sustainability Coordinator until 2023, spearheading the City’s Energy and Electric Vehicle Action Plans and establishing Northglenn’s first resident-led Sustainability Committee.
In her role, Becky oversees current and long-range planning and leads the Live Well Committee, which promotes healthier built environments. Her leadership has driven key plans and policies, including the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan, a Complete Streets Ordinance, and integration of health and sustainability principles into the Unified Development Ordinance and comprehensive plan, Looking Up Northglenn.
Becky holds a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Colorado Denver and a Bachelor of Science in Geography from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire. Outside of work, she enjoys running, camping, exploring parks, and spending time outdoors with family and friends.
